The Ragwon county offshore farm is a development project conducted in the DPRK started in February 2025.[1] Four months later in July of that year, the project entered its final phase[2] with workers ready to move into the newly-built homes. The construction relied on the Korean People's Army.[2]
Background[edit | edit source]

The Ragwon county farm was built on the model of the Sinpho City Offshore Farm, itself built in 2024. It comes as part of a greater plan to provide aquaculture farms in the DPRK, after comrade Kim Jong Un stressed the importance of developing the coastal shorelines to ensure supplies of food and jobs. At the same time, a town was built on the coast to support the farm workers and provide housing in general.[1]
