Isin was the last kingdom of ancient Sumer.[1]
Isin-Larsa period
In the late 21st century BCE, the Elamites conquered and occupied Urim. In the early 20th century BCE, Išbīrra of Isin seized power. Lipitištar, the king of Isin from 1934 to 1924 BCE, issued a new legal code and freed Sumerians and Akkadians from debt slavery.[1]
In 1894 BCE, the Amorites captured the northern part of Isin and founded a kingdom at Babylon (Bābilim).[1]
