The German Communist Party (DKP), is a communist party in Germany that claims the legacy of the original Communist Party of Germany (KPD).[1]
Party Program[edit | edit source]
In its Party program, the Party names the "destruction of socialism in eastern Europe" and actively voices its allegiance to the former GDR as a socialist state. The program names Marx, Engels and Lenin as well as scientific socialism as its fundamentals. It names the EU as imperialist endeavor and states that Germany itself is imperialist and one of the core perpetrators of international conflicts. It names the "right to work", "social safety" and "equality and liberation of women" as foundations of socialism. It does however also name "internationalization" and "continuing integrational processes inside the EU" as reasons why "socialism can only be achieved through concerted efforts by multiple core countries of the EU".
