File:DPRK No RoK (orthographic projection).svg

File on ProleWiki

Original file (SVG file, nominally 536 × 536 pixels, file size: 391 KB)

Summary[edit | edit source]

The DPRK's current (as of September 7th, 2026) claimed territory, on an orthographic map projection. Korean reunification was officially abandoned by the DPRK in January 2024, so the DPRK no longer claims the RoK as part of its territory.

Kikorangi wrote this in the official ProleWiki Discord server:

"The DPRK officially changed its constitution and refers to itself as bordering the Russian Federation, People's Republic of China, and the Republic of Korea.

Although the government has made references to this and announced its intention to update the constitution, it hadn't updated the constitution until this year, so it de jure recognised south Korea as part of its territory even though it de facto did not. Now that the constitution has been updated and it both de fact and de jure recognises the ROK as a separate country, I believe updating the map shouldn't be controversial."
