Magyar Péter (born 16 March 1981) is a Hungarian politician and lawyer who has served as Prime Minister of Hungary since 2026. Previously he was a member of Fidesz, Orbán Viktor's long ruling party, before breaking away to join TISZA, becoming its president in 2024, and also serving as a member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 2024 to 2026.
Magyar shifted Hungary back towards alignment with European imperialism, hoping to leverage support for imperialism in Ukraine in return for European Union funding. Despite running on opposition to Orbán, Magyar's policies have negligible differences from his predecessor other than deconstructing pro-Orbán power structures.[1][2]
