(Redirected from PNAC)
The Project for the New American Century (PNAC) was a neoconservative think tank based in the United States. It was formed by William Kristol and Robert Kagan in 1997.[1]
In 1996, Kagan and Kristol had co-authored an article titled "Toward a Neo-Reaganite Foreign Policy" for Foreign Affairs magazine of the Council on Foreign Relations.[2] In the article, the future PNAC co-founders wrote that "today's lukewarm consensus about America's reduced role in a post-Cold War world is wrong" and advocated for what they called a "more elevated vision" of the US's international role, saying: "What should that role be? Benevolent global hegemony."[2]
