William Howard Taft (September 15, 1857 – March 8, 1930) was a Statesian politician and lawyer who served as the 27th president of the United States from 1909 to 1913. He was also served as chief justice of the United States from 1921 to 1930 and in various government positions, most notably as Secretary of War under Theodore Roosevelt from 1904 to 1908. He is the only Statesian to serve as both president and chief justice.

The Taft administration pursued a strategy of Dollar diplomacy, aiming to financially subjugate Latin America and East Asia, in particular Qing China, to U.S. imperialism. Taft also wanted to intervene in the Mexican Revolution to protect the interests of the Statesian bourgeoisie and occupied Nicaragua in 1912 to protect the comprador government, the occupation lasted until 1933.[1]
