Theodore John Kaczynski (May 22, 1942 – June 10, 2023), also known as the Unabomber, was a Statesian primitivist and eco-fascist and serial bomber, known for mailing/delivering 16 bombs over a duration of almost 17 years, killing 3 people and injuring 23 more. His targets included scientists, engineers, industrialists, lobbyists, and airlines; people and institutions he felt were furthering technological progress to the detriment of society.[1]
Motivations[edit | edit source]
Despite the fact that his ideological convictions professed a proposal for giving humanity its freedom back, Kaczynski committed his crimes merely out of a personal desire for revenge. In a journal entry, he stated that he did not expect to accomplish anything productive with his crimes, and even acknowledged that his crimes might be counterproductive to his ultimate aims for humanity, yet he decided to commit his acts of murder and attempted murder anyway, due to him feeling the need to "content himself with just a little revenge".[2]
